The gunpowder room at the Castillo de San Marcos was built to protect precious gunpowder from enemies or fire. To get into the room you have to literally stoop down and crawl. Though there were quite a few tourists around nobody seemed to venture into that little room. However, the moment I peeked into the room I knew I had to get in there. It looked like a dungeon with a lonely tungsten light hanging from the ceiling—a perfect scenario to shoot an HDR.
So I crawled in with all my gear—camera, tripod, and shutter release cable—much to the amazement of the onlookers who were probably convinced that I was a nut job. However, when I processed the images (5 exposures combined into 1) on my computer that night I knew it was worth all the ignominy.
