Vincent Van Gogh once wrote to his brother Theo, “I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day.” When I close my eyes and reflect on that quote I see Van Gogh’s The Starry Night emerge from the darkness of somnolence.
One evening while standing on Duval Street in Key West I saw the night unfold and heard Van Gogh in the gentle whispering breeze, “The night is more richly colored than the day.” My reflections were projecting outward.
