OK, so I was at the South Beach (nicknamed SoBe) in Miami, standing by a lifeguards stand at Lummus Park, waiting for the sun to rise. However, a dark ominous cloud was hanging over the Atlantic and the chances of catching a glimpse of the sunrise was looking slim. Nevertheless, I was grateful for the amazing cloudscape and colors and was working the scene with my iPhone (I usually take test shots with my iPhone while I’m setting up my main camera for that “epic” shot). Finally, once my camera was set up I took multiple exposures and later that night, in my hotel room, merged the photos into a HDR image using Photomatix Pro 4.2.4 (the geek in me speaks).
After a while, when I was about to pack up my gear, the sun broke free by tearing the thick sheath of clouds for the most amazing display over the Atlantic.
I couldn’t help but be grateful.
