It was the best of nights and the worst of nights.
As the sun came down, a swarm of people rose looking expectantly towards the eastern sky at Navy Pier, on the shores of Lake Michigan, in Chicago.
It was worst because the swarm was so gigantic that the pier was closed down right before we were about to enter through the gates and hours before the fireworks show. That actually left me lurching with my heavy camera gear and my family in tow. Thankfully, a law enforcement officer was kind enough to point me to the right spot for watching the show and taking photos. As that spot was filling up fast, we literally ran and I managed to find a spot where my family could sit and watch the fireworks. However, my ordeal was far from being over. I had a tough time placing my gigantic tripod amongst the swarm of people. Eventually, I found a spot with the TV crew, with a bigger tripod, on my right and an Asian-American lady, with a slightly shorter tripod, on my left. We looked like a bunch of kids lined up based on our heights for collecting our Halloween candies.
And how yummy were those candies …
Very nice pictures. Clear and colourful.
