The Anjeyanadri Hill, on the “other side” of Hampi (as it’s on the other side of the Tungabhadra River), is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman.
One afternoon, my wife and I drove there, climbed about 575 steps, and watched this amazing sunset.
As the sun went down, a persistent yet gentle wind caressed my face. Legend has it that Vayu, god of the wind, carried the divine power of Lord Shiva to Añjanā’s (mother of Lord Hanuman) womb and thus Hanuman was born. It’s a place where gentle winds are much more than what they seem. It’s a place where legends are gently blowing in the wind.
