With the flickering of a candle, love sparks. Two hands meet in the dark and the lives of four friends are changed forever. No, it’s not the story of my life or someone I know. It’s the rendition of Giacomo Puccini’s La bohème at the Sydney Opera House. The act exposed my soul to the same feelings of love, jealousy, and pain I had known when I had first fallen in love. The feelings are too big for words … and that’s why you have music … and that’s why you have opera.
That night, after the performance, as I walked out of the Opera House, I turned around and took a final look. She looked as pretty as ever and I know she’ll always have a special place in my heart.
