It was a quiet balmy evening. I sat quietly by the Kirribilli Waterfront and watched the changing lights and the boats go by. People started leaving as it got darker (including the long exposure photographers). The light in the sky was gone, but the water shimmered with the lights from the city skyscrapers.
And then suddenly, in a matter of seconds, things changed. Strong gusts of wind wiped out the shimmering lights on water. The Silver Gulls that circle above the Sydney Harbour Bridge at night were gone. There was not a single living soul in sight … only the howling winds circling the Harbour Bridge and the skyscrapers of Sydney.
